What kind of underwear do I need for packing? - RodeoH

FTM GUIDE

What kind of underwear do I need for packing?

It can be overwhelming to figure out which packing underwear goes best with a packer style. This helpful guide explains the difference between the packing underwear styles RodeoH offers so you can choose with confidence. If you don't yet have a packer or are looking for something new, we recommend reading our What Is A Packer? article for helpful guidance in selecting the right packer for you. That will be an important step before deciding what kind of underwear to wear it with since packers vary in size, weight, and function. Top Loading Underwear If your packer is heavy and/or large and you feel you need more stability in your underwear, a top loading style might be what you’re looking for. The button fly boxers,  boxers, and briefs of our Top Loading Collection have an interior pocket with a generous opening at the top to allow for room to insert your larger packer so you can position it quickly and comfortably. With a top loading design, adjustment on the go is a breeze providing peace of mind and easy access. As a note, the button fly boxer style has the added bonus of allowing the shaft of a packer to come through the front of the button fly for packing & playing or for using with an STP packer.  Side Loading Underwear If you’re most concerned about discretion, side loading underwear might be right for you. Our SHIFT Collection of underwear was specifically designed to look like regular underwear but have the functionality of packing underwear. The shaft of the packer would be inserted via the side of the internal pocket. They make public laundry a breeze and allow for the versatility of just being worn like regular underwear. It should be noted that side loading boxers, briefs, and jocks have limited space to insert a packer and are only recommended for X-Small to Medium sized packers.  STP Underwear  All STPs are different and Boxers, Briefs and Jocks specifically designed for use with STPs have an opening on the inside against the skin which allows the user to push the STP funnel against their anatomy. These may also feature a fly opening on the top of the front pouch or the side for use at a urinal. Our TRUHK Collection can handle the additional weight of an STP, has a middle O-Layer to prevent the STP from rolling or turning, and features an extra layer of fabric in the front pouch for drip or run-off. Underwear designed to be paired with STPs gives the wearer peace of mind against slipping, dripping, or unwanted movement throughout the day.  We recommended underwear styles for the STPs we carry on rodeoh.com in the listing for each STP. If you have a model of STP from another vendor, we are happy to recommend underwear styles that would be compatible. Simply send us an email with a url link for the make and model of your STP and we will help find you a match. Harnesses For those who have an STP with a rod insert and want to use the STP for "play" (penetration), RodeoH Harnesses are recommended. Our harnesses are sturdy and specifically designed with multi layer 190 weight fabric that allows for a confident pack and play experience. Check out our What is a Pack & Play? article for more information and pack & play options. Keep in mind, RodeoH Harnesses feature a sewn in flexible but firm O-ring for stability, support, and thrust control. We recommend only using with the shaft through the O-ring for play. When packing with a Harness, the user will want to keep the shaft in the INSIDE pocket and not through the O-ring. If the shaft is pulled through the O-Ring and packed down for everyday wear, it will rub against your STP and cause surface break down and/or tear your STP.  Fabric Types Each product listing has a description of the material it is made of so you can locate the fabric of your choice. We offer a variety of fabrics in different styles so let's dive in! Bamboo fabrics are the best micro modal fabrics available and feature a super soft stretch that really gives that 2nd skin feel. These "premium" blends are more expensive but have a wonderful silky texture.  The most common fabric for our underwear is the classic cotton blend of 95% Cotton, 5% Elastane. The difference with cotton blend fabric is the weight and what is known as the 'hand' or how the cotton is woven together. The lighter blends stretch easily and don't hold their form as well. We work with heavier blends with a soft "hand", specifically designed to be comfortable and durable. For those wanting a quick dry or sport fabric we offer poly blends. This fabric is super stretchy, quick drying and breathable.  If you have absolutely any questions about the above article or compatibility, please hit us up. We are absolutely happy to assist you!

What is an STP Packer?

STP or "Stand To Pee" devices provide the wearer with the option of peeing while standing up. These devices can range from hyper realistic prosthetics such as the 2nd Gen to very basic devices that have a simple funnel like the Willy. The STP can also be stored/packed in your underwear to provide a realistic bulge. Level of realism, shaft length and cup/funnel shape vary. Selection depends on the person, their amount of use, location of use and if the wearer has dysphoria related to peeing. Less realistic STPs like this Compact STP and Sport STP are designed for practical use and are often stored in the pouch of packing underwear in an upward position or more commonly known as "packing-up." More functional than realistic, these styles are compact, lightweight, and designed for use at home or taken out in the bathroom stall. Realistically shaped STPs come in a variety of shapes and sizes so that when shown outside of your pants it can "pass" as a cisgender penis. These can be unpainted, semi-painted or hyper realistically painted and vary in price. As they are made to be used at a urinal within eyesight of others, it is always recommended to try them out at home first until you are comfortable using them before trying in public. Below are two examples of realistic STPs with funnel systems. WHAT IS AN STP PACKER? STP or "Stand To Pee" devices provide the wearer with the option of peeing while standing up... HOW DOES AN STP PACKER WORK? Realistic STP packers have a funnel shape in the interior. The top is a soft, flexible cup that the wearer can discreetly push up to form a seal around their anatomy. This causes the urine to flow down the interior funnel of the shaft and out of the hole in the head. Smaller STPs such as the Compact require a little more direct aim and practice to use. The smaller cup takes adjustment and is not as easy to discreetly seal the device with one hand. Someone using one of these devices would be less concerned about urinal usage and more wanting the convenience of peeing standing up. STPs with longer shafts generally require less practice to achieve a successful bathroom experience. However, if you have too strong a stream of urine the STP can back up into the funnel, overflow and run down the legs in a super uncomfortable way. It's advised that you practice in the shower until you are comfortable. HOW TO PACK COMFORTABLY? We've designed a range of STP Packing Boxers. The compact style STPs require a simple "Top Loading" design and most find it ideal to wear a Top Loading Brief. The narrow crotch on the brief keeps the compact style STP tucked nicely and gives the look of a subtle bulge. To use, remove from the interior pocket, place the cup against you to pee and return to the pocket after use. If you are new to using an STP and have chosen a realistic style with balls and a longer shaft, we recommend starting with an STP Jock. The STP Jock helps to keep your STP in position and you can wear the underwear of your choice over it. Alternatively for an all in one solution, our TRUHK Series packing underwear has an internal packing pocket for the cup, a middle O-Layer to help keep the STP packer from rolling, and a front pocket for the shaft that has a 2nd layer to absorb moisture. The TRUHK series allows the wearer to pull the shaft of the penis out at a urinal while also one handedly pushing the funnel inside against their anatomy. If you have a longer shafted STP (more than 5" or 6"), we would recommend the TRUHK Brief. This will allow the shaft to be "tucked" in so it doesn't bulge uncomfortably. STPs can also be used with our O-Ring Harnesses if you'd like to feel a little more secure with your STP or use it as a Pack & Play. Whenever you pack with silicone, be sure the shaft is tucked on the inside. If you pull a silicone shaft through an o-ring and pack down, the harder o-ring will tear through your silicone. To pack with a RodeoH Harness, tuck the shaft in the interior pocket, then when you are ready, pull through the O-Ring for play. Whichever way feels right to you, we hope that this article helped you decide. Should you have any further questions we'd love to hear from you below. Happy peeing! NOTE: New products are released regularly. This article will be updated once available.

What is a Pack & Play?

WHAT IS A PACK & PLAY? A pack & play provides the wearer with the option to seamlessly transition between wearing a packer around like normal, and using the packer to penetrate a partner. Soft packs such as the Mr. Limpy or NYTC Archer do not have a firm shaft so they are not ideal for penetration (please review our article "What is a Packer?" for more details). This is where pack & play packers come in! Generally there are 2 styles. Style A — Separate Insertable Rod This style provides the wearer with a soft packer and a separate insertable rod which is placed inside the hollow core of the packer when ready for play. Example: the 2-n-1 Tommy. This model features a firmer silicone for play but is also specially designed to fold down while packing. Style B — Built-in Firm Core/Rod This style has a firm core/rod built into semi-firm material that the wearer can manipulate to make the packer stand erect. Examples: the Ultimate or Semi Realistic (see videos below). WHICH ONE IS RIGHT FOR ME? Ultimately the decision comes down to intended use. If you would like to penetrate your partner without any preparation beforehand, a pack & play with a built-in firm core/rod may be better for you — no extra accessories to carry around. However, if you prefer a softer packer for all day wear and don't mind keeping a 3–4" rod in the Vibe Pocket above the O-Ring in your RodeoH underwear, then the pack & play with a separate rod may be best. RodeoH has a wide selection of different models and sizes of pack & plays, 2-in-1s and 4-n-1s (see videos below). If you are new to packing and want to try a comfortable size pack & play that can be worn all day, check out the Tommy or Junior D. These softer model packers can be worn under more types of clothing without appearing hard or semi-hard. Alternatively, if you would like a pack & play that is semi erect, the Ultimate is a great starter. Whichever product you choose, we hope this article helped narrow down your options. Should you have any further questions we'd love to hear from you below. Happy pack and play! QUICK TIP: Silicone lube can melt silicone — be sure to use water-based lube on all silicone toys. Also be careful of the zipper! This abrasive surface can and will tear your silicone.

FTM GUIDE

What Is A Packer?

What is a packer? Packing is wearing a padded or phallic object in the front of the pants or underwear to give the appearance of having a penis or male bulge. The act of packing can alleviate "bottom dysphoria" for many individuals in the transmasculine community. For some of the female-to-male transgender and non-binary community, packers are an essential element for living comfortably. From the fit to the styling, there are a ton of options to explore to get the feeling, desired look, or preferred function you are after. Let's talk options. If you are new to packing and/or on a budget there are fantastic options under $25. Typically the less expensive options will be a solid color and made of a Cyberskin material like the Mr. Limpy and Pack-It. Next level packers will be made of silicone and range from $25–$100. A few good examples of unpainted higher-end packers would be the Archer, Uncut Pierre, Pete, or the very reasonably priced FreeForm Series. Hyper-realistic painted silicone will come with a higher price tag — $200–$500. Check out the "Flaccid Series" designed using a multi-stage silicone layering process to provide amazing texture and detail. From there, the packer is then expertly custom painted in the color tone of your choice. Finally, some prosthetic packers are made for the sole purpose of packing, while others have multiple functions such as standing to pee (STPs) or for pleasure (Pack-N-Play, 2-N-1s, Semi-Erects), or for all of the above! One of the most common questions we receive is "what size is right for me?" According to Medical News Today, the average flaccid penis is 3.5 inches — a full quarter inch smaller than the Mr. Limpy SM. Remember, this is a journey and it will take time to find the right combination for your preferences, and those same preferences may change and evolve over time. We always recommend starting with the basics. Cost & Benefits of Material Silicone Being one of the most popular and versatile materials, silicone comes in a variety of textures, levels of firmness and color options. Silicone is hypoallergenic, nonporous and can even withstand extreme temperatures. The durability provided by silicone makes it easy to clean either by washing with mild soap and water or by boiling to sanitize. Cost: Because they are high in durability and tend to last a lot longer, 100% silicone products can be more expensive. Benefits: Durability is one of the prime selling points of silicone, as well as being easy to clean. It is also a great choice for those looking for nonporous products, which can be a huge plus if you have sensitive skin or are prone to skin irritation. Cyberskin Made of a blend of rubbers and mineral oil, Cyberskin is intended to recreate the feel and look of human skin. It is porous, meaning it has minuscule spaces that allow air and moisture inside. You can clean it with soap and water but it requires diligent upkeep. Allow your product to air dry or pat dry with a towel after each use. It is recommended to dust your Cyberskin packer with corn starch after cleaning to reduce the tacky texture and give a matte finish. Cost: Inexpensive. Benefits: Cyberskin products are specifically blended to closely match the look and feel of real skin. RodeoH Tip: Cyberskin and silicone packers have a tendency to absorb colors when paired with darker or brightly colored fabrics. Always wash your packing underwear several times to reduce the possibility of dye transferring onto your soft packer. Keep an older packer around to use with your favorite darker or brightly colored clothing. Any Questions? Feel free to reach out to our support team for more information.
