Ordering with Your Chosen Name: What You Need to Know

We want your RodeoH order to reach you without hassle. If you're using a chosen name that doesn't match your legal ID or isn't registered with USPS, here's what you need to know to ensure smooth delivery.

The USPS Challenge

USPS may return packages marked "Return to Sender - Addressee Unknown" if:

  • The name on the package doesn't match anyone registered at that address
  • Your chosen name isn't on file with USPS
  • You live in a multi-unit building with strict mail sorting

This happens even with correct addresses. It's frustrating, but fixable.

How to Receive Packages in Your Chosen Name

Option 1: Register Your Name with USPS (Best Solution)

Add your chosen name to your address through USPS Informed Delivery:

  1. Go to informeddelivery.usps.com
  2. Create a free account or log in
  3. Verify your address
  4. Add your chosen name as a resident at that address

This tells USPS your name is valid for that location. Takes 5-10 minutes and prevents future issues.

Option 2: Use Your Legal Last Name for Shipping

When checking out:

  • Billing Name: Must match your credit cardΒ
  • Shipping Name: Can be your legal last name to avoid USPS issues
  • We ship in discreet packaging - no one will know what's inside

Your privacy is protected either way.

Option 3: Add "c/o [Legal Name]"

Format your shipping address like this

[Chosen Name] c/o [Legal Last Name]

123 Main Street City, State ZIP

The "c/o" (care of) tells USPS the package is for someone at that address, even if the first name doesn't match their records.

What Happens During Checkout

Our fraud prevention system may flag orders where:

  • Billing name doesn't match shipping name
  • Shipping address doesn't match billing address
  • Names don't match credit card records

If your order is flagged, you'll receive an email asking you to verify your identity. We know this can feel like another hoop to jump through - it's an automated security measure we use to prevent fraud, not something we choose to make difficult.
